What happened to PADERNO? ›

Canadian Tire acquired Padinox, the company which owns the Canadian rights to Paderno, in 2017. The Paderno brand includes a range of cookware, bakeware and kitchenware. The brand will eventually only be carried in Canadian Tire stores as an in-house brand, as well as online.

For close to 40 years, PADERNO has been making quality cookware and kitchen tools to fuel Canada's passion for cooking. The first Canadian PADERNO plant was opened on Prince Edward Island in 1979 and PADERNO continues to produce cookware there today.

Paderno is a Canadian company owned by Canadian Tire. It first opened its plant on Prince Edward Island in 1979 and that is where most of the company's production is still based. When Canadian Tire purchased the Paderno brand in 2017, Meyer purchased the manufacturing and wholesale operations. Meyer is a major international maker of cookware and has since put out the made-in-Canada cookware Accolade line that is made in PEI as well as some other lines such as Nouvelle and Confederation.

Each piece of PADERNO cookware is safe for all cooking methods. Some simple rules of thumb will keep your PADERNO cookware in great shape. While many of the products in the PADERNO collection can be cleaned in the dishwasher, hand washing in warm, soapy water will give you the best results.

Canadian rights

The plant was originally opened on the Island by Paderno Italy in 1979. In 1986, local businessman Jim Casey bought the factory and cut all ties with the Italian company except for the rights to use the Paderno name in Canada. It's now owned by Casey's son, Tim.

A) ("CTC") announced today that it has entered into an agreement to acquire Padinox Inc., the company which owns the Canadian rights to the Paderno brand. Paderno is a well-known kitchenware brand with strong roots in Canada and holds a reputation for excellence in craftsmanship and quality.

The PADERNO warranty covers all costs related to restoring the proven defective product through the repair or replacement of any defective part and necessary labour so that it conforms to its original specifications.
