Life Insurance that Benefits All Saints

Using Life Insurance to Benefit All Saints

There may be some Episcopalians who would be in a position to name All Saints as a secondary or final beneficiary of existing life insurance.  If your spouse is deceased and you have no children you might want to consider having All Saints be your beneficiary.

Some of you might even want to consider buying a life insurance policy solely for the benefit of All Saints to endow your church pledge.  For instance, if your pledge was $1,000 a year and you could make All Saints the beneficiary of a $20,000 policy payable to the All Saints Endowment Fund, the earning of 5% a year on the $20,000 policy after your death would be sufficient to continue your pledge of a $1,000 on a continual basis following your demise.  If such a policy on your life were owned by All Saints and All Saints was the beneficiary, the premiums would be tax deductible as a charitable contribution.

Finally, consider making All Saints the final beneficiary, on one or more of your life insurance policies, or a partial beneficiary when circumstances in your life change, and the original purpose of owning the policy may allow you to make All Saints one of the partial beneficiaries.  If youhave any questions, please contact a member of the Planned Giving Team for further information.
